Spring contest, Crawley

The band entered the Spring scaba contest at The Hawth Theatre in Crawley on 28th April. Our Musical Director, Robin Langdon, was unable to attend the contest and we were led by Matthew Milnes for which the band is very grateful. In this contest each band is required to play two pieces, a march and a test piece. We chose Kenilworth by Edwin Firth as the march and The Shipbuilders by Peter Yorke as the test piece. Unfortunately there were no prizes this time, coming 4th in the march and 7th in the test piece.

Three in a row

The band entered the scaba Entertainment Contest at the Hawth theatre in Crawley on Sunday 20th May 2012, playing a timed short program including Trumpet Fiesta, Braveheart and Cute.  Robin Langdon, the bands Musical Director won the prize for the best compere, making it the third competition in a row that has seen the band come away with a prize!
